A different kind of new year


The first day in the new year is a day for joy and well wishes as we move into a new year. However, in Haiti there is more than just well wishes to be jubilant about. A country that made history by being the first black country to proclaim its independence in 1804 has a lot more to be happy about than one year becoming another year. On January 1st, the great people of Haiti celebrate their independence day.

Musical Family of Leaders Leads: by Philly

gmeastampDutchtown High School (DHS) for the second year in a row hosts the Georgia Music Educator’s Association (GMEA) All-State choir auditions. In a long day from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, volunteers and choral directors worked around the clock in order to get some of their best students into some of the most prestigious choirs in the state of Georgia. Kids on the middle school, 9/10th grade, and 11/12th grade levels all tried to remember their training as they strived to be named an all-state singer.
